According to reports in the Miami Herald, “investigators are looking into the circumstances surrounding the death of a woman killed after the boat she was passenger in slammed into concrete pilings underneath the MacArthur Causeway Bridge on Saturday, Jan. 12.
The victim suffered severe blunt trauma to the head or body and died Saturday afternoon after being rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center.”
Fortunately, boating accidents of this nature are relatively uncommon. While investigators continue to understand what happened leading up to the accident – and what may have caused the accident – there will be many questions asked within the local Miami boating community.
