Carnival Horizon Picks Up Stranded Fishermen

Carnival Horizon, a Carnival Cruise Lines ship that was sailing from Aruba back to port in Miami, rescued passengers from a small fishing boat that had been adrift for two days.

The cruise ship was alerted to distress calls – the stranded fisherman on the boat had been seeking help after whiling away nearly 48 hours at sea. The U.S. Coast Guard alerted the Carnival Horizon crew and the vessel successfully pulled seven passengers aboard where they were provided food, water and medical treatment.
