Reports from July 8 show that the Carnival Spirit apparently had a crew member go overboard while sailing near the island of Vanuatu in the South Pacific Ocean.
Search and rescue operations have not found the crew member, reported to be an Indian national and a member of the kitchen crew aboard the Spirit. When he did not show up for his post, the crew did a thorough search of the vessel. The cruise line then decided to turn around the cruise ship to search for the crew member in the water.
At this point, the search has been called off. Read more here at News.com.au.
The Carnival Spirit is the same boat that had 2 passengers go overboard in May 2014.
