Carnival Cruise Lines Sued by Man After Tumble Leads to Damaged Spine, Leg and Knee

The Florida Record reports that a passenger – Luis Barrios – filed a complaint against Carnival Corporation alleging negligence after Barrios was injured aboard the Carnival Inspiration.

A crew member was ‘hastily’ leading Barrios and another passenger through the ship when Barrios was injured.

The incident took place on Feb. 26, 2018 “when Barrios went to the wrong muster station, causing the Carnival employee to hastily lead the plaintiff to the correct one.

Barrios alleges he was holding the arm of his travel companion who was being pulled by the Carnival employee and the plaintiff fell on the stairs, resulting in injuries to his spine and causing him to lose enjoyment of life.”

Carnival argued they were not liable for the sustained injuries. The Carnival Inspiration is an 855-foot long liner that can carry more than 2,000 guests.
