Bump: Carnival Cruise Ship Horizon Hits Pier in New York City

Per Crew-Center.com, “the cruise ship Carnival Horizon hit Pier 90 this morning in New York City while performing a docking maneuver at the Manhattan Cruise Terminal.. According to Carnival Cruise Line statement, no one was hurt by the collision, and the cruise ship sustained minor damages. Part of the parking garage and two support beams were damaged by the crash.”

Apparently, passengers who were sailing with the Horizon were able to leave the cruise ship without delay.

The U.S. Coast Guard is investigating the collision

Carnival Cruise Line released the following statement “While docking this morning in New York, Carnival Horizon made contact with the west end of pier 90. There were no injuries to report and impact to the bow of the ship was minor. Assessments of the pier are currently underway. The U.S. Coast Guard and other authorities have been notified.”
