Disney Cruise Ship Employee Accused of Rape, Molestation of Young Teen

arrest of passenger on cruise ship

The Orlando Sentinel reported on Dec. 5 that a man employed by Disney Cruise Line was arrested after being accused of raping and molesting a 13-year-old girl.

The man, 53-year-old Keith Seitz was arrested by Orange County, Florida deputies on Nov. 25 at his home.

According to the Sentinel:

“He was arrested Nov. 25 after the girl told her mother Seitz raped her multiple times between 2016 and October 2019, an arrest affidavit said. The girl accused him of molesting her at his home, beginning when she was 10, according to court records. She said these incidents escalated to Seitz raping her “over 100 times” starting when she was 11. She told police Seitz also took photos of her while she was naked and stored them on his phone “for when he’s on the cruise ship.”

This incident comes just after the recent release of a U.S. Department of Transportation report under the Cruise Vessel Security and Safety Act (CVSSA) highlighting “alleged criminal activity” from July 1 – September 30, 2019. In that report, 26 sexual assaults were reported across five cruise lines – including 2 on Disney Cruise Line. Carnival Cruise Line had a reported 20 sexual assault incidents.

*Note: the charges against Mr. Seitz refer to allegations that did not take place aboard a Disney cruise ship.

Also from the article, “Cynthia Martinez, director of communications and public affairs for Disney Signature Experiences — including Disney Cruise Line and Disney Vacation Club — said Seitz has been placed on unpaid leave pending the outcome of his charges.”
