medevac of cruise ship passenger
Per a news report from WITN News in North Carolina, a female passengers was evacuated from the Grandeur of the Seas, a Royal Caribbean cruise ship.
The U.S. Coast Guard says they got the call around 8:40 a.m. that the 76-year-old woman was having abdominal pains while on board the Grandeur of the Seas.
Rescues with helicopters are not uncommon when passengers have suffered a severe injury or whose medical complications exceed the abilities of the personnel and facilities of the cruise ship on which they are traveling.
