Grand Celebration Cruise Ships Delivers 1,100 From Bahamas to Florida

The cruise industry is helping with relief efforts for Bahamian victims of Hurricane Dorian.

The Grand Celebration, a vessel owned by Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line, brought over 1,100 Bahamians to West Palm Beach over the weekend. News reports say they “were met upon arrival at the port by volunteers from various South Florida nonprofits, as well as representatives from the Bahamian Relief Consortium.”

Hurricane Dorian recently ravaged the Bahamas, striking the islands with Category 5 level winds, rain and storm surge flooding.

Other cruise lines, including Carnival Corporation, are also providing support.

Donations can be made for hurricane victims through the Red Cross here and through many other organizations.
