From today’s story in the Charleston Post and Courier,
Carnival Cruise Line is bringing a newer, and bigger, ship to the Port of Charleston beginning in 2019, the Miami-based company said Thursday.
The Carnival Sunshine will call Charleston its home port beginning in May 2019, with regular four- and five-day sailings to the Bahamas. The Sunshine, which launched in November 1995, will replace the 28-year-old Carnival Ecstasy as the main cruise ship sailing from Union Pier.
Like most Carnival cruise ships, the Sunshine has seen its share of passenger accidents, mishaps and more. Over the years we’ve received numerous inquiries regarding questions about passenger rights after an accident has occurred.
Here’s hoping future trips from Charleston are safe.
