A passenger who went overboard on July 10 from the Seven Seas Mariner cruise ship has been found. Per the Associated Press, “a Coast Guard helicopter crew has recovered the body of a cruise ship passenger who went overboard off the coast of Washington state.”
The USCG found the man unresponsive and he was later pronounced dead at a local hospital in a Port Angeles (located between Vancouver and Seattle).
Initial reports said the man ‘jumped’ though there is no final indication of how he went overboard per the cruise line or the Coast Guard.
The cruise line was alerted when the wife of the missing passenger noticed an open balcony door in their cabin and her husband was not there.
This is the latest in what seems to be a high number of ‘passenger overboard’ incidents here in 2018.
