The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) responded to sick passengers who were traveling on the Norwegian Cruise Ship, Norwegian Joy.
Apparently the passengers were dealing with stomach related health issues. The LAFD evaluated 6 passengers. 4 were taken to local hospitals.
Per the Torrance Daily Breeze, Norwegian commented:
“During Norwegian Joy’s Panama Canal sailing, a few guests on board experienced a stomach-related illness,” the cruise company said in a statement. “To mitigate any impact of this rare occurrence, we implemented stringent sanitation procedures.”
Norovirus is a common stomach bug that can impact passengers on cruise ships.
