The video, as posted by the Defense Visual Information Distribution Service, shows the U.S. Coast Guard medevacing a passenger. The man was taken from the ship on July 14 while the Royal Caribbean ship, Adventure of the Seas, was cruising off the coast of Charleston, S.C.
Apparently the man was suffering stomach pains and needed more medical attention than could be provided by the ship’s medical staff.
An MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Savannah launched and arrived at 7:30 p.m., hoisted the passenger and transported him to Medical University South Carolina for further care.
