A Royal Caribbean cruise ship passenger who was aboard the diving tour boat that sank last week off the coast of Cozumel, Mexio — according to news reports like this one at FoxNews.com — was shocked at how quickly the boat sank.
“I’ve been diving for 12 years and never seen something like that before,” Thiago Koga told The Miami Herald. “I was in shock.”
10 passengers from Royal Caribbean — from the Navigator of the Seas from Celebrity Cruises’ Celebrity Equinox — had booked the dive tour as part of a sponsored excursion during a stopover in Cozumel. According to reports, all the passengers — after having had to jump ship — returned to their cruise ship with no serious injuries.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
