Passenger falls, accidents do happen on cruise ships

According to CruiseCritic.com, a cruise passenger fell down two decks while traveling aboard the Norwegian Breakaway cruise ship.

Per the report…”A passenger aboard Norwegian Breakaway fell two decks Tuesday, September 17, breaking her ribs.

“The guest accidentally fell from her balcony on Deck 10 to Deck 8 and was disembarked in Bermuda for medical treatment on Tuesday,” confirmed a Norwegian spokeswoman via e-mail. According to the Bermuda Sun, the woman was initially treated on Breakaway, and then the ship made an unscheduled stop near the east end of the island so the woman could be transferred to a pilot boat and on to a hospital.”

Accidents do happen on cruise ships

It’s unfortunate, but serious injuries and accidents do happen to passengers while they are on their cruise vacations. Sometimes those injures are simply the result of an accident and sometimes those injuries occur because of some fault of the cruise line, the crew members or even another cruise passenger.

*note – it is undetermined what happened aboard the Norwegian Breakaway.

For passengers who believe that their injury was caused by the negligence of someone else, they may have the ability to file a claim against the cruise line for medical expenses, missed time at work or pain and suffering.

It’s always important to speak with a knowledgeable cruise injury attorney, one who is experienced with dealing with claims made against the cruise lines.
