Irish Man Latest to Die From Coronavirus Contracted on Cruise

The online newspaper, IrishCentral.com, reports that the owner of an Irish travel agency died from Coronavirus.

The article, Limerick man dies after coronavirus strikes cruise ship in Florida, reported that “Peter Dolan, a businessman from Co Limerick, has died in Florida from COVID-19 after contracting it on the Zaandam cruise ship.”

The Zaandam, a Holland America cruise ship, had docked in Fort Lauderdale, FL after spending weeks at sea and being denied port in other locations. Hundreds of passengers and crew had experienced Coronavirus-like symptoms.

The death’s of at least 4 other passengers aboard the Zaandam have been attributed to Coronavirus.

The article goes on to state, “Dolan, a father of two, was transferred to the North West Medical Center in Margate, Florida, but passed away last week. His family are making arrangements to return his body to Ireland.”
