The cruise industry in Florida has an economic impact of $6.7 Billion dollars according to a recent report carried in the South Florida Business Journal.
Per the story….
Florida’s cruise industry in 2011 contributed $6.7 billion to the state economy and created 130,950 jobs that generated $5.76 billion, according to a study released by the Cruise Lines International Association Sept. 6.
The nationwide impact of the cruise industry was $18.9 billion, up 5 percent at $18 billion in 2011, but down 1 percent from the $19.07 billion in 2008, according to the trade group’s August study.
While that news is certainly good for the Florida and national economy, it also represents the potential of “deep pockets” from the viewpoint of passengers who have suffered an injury while aboard a cruise ship – especially if they and their attorney believe the cruise line was negligent in regards to the injury.
Lawsuits brought against the cruise line require the special attention of seasoned maritime attorneys. If you’ve been injured or have suffered in any way while as a passenger of a cruise ship, you should seek the consultation of an attorney.
