Carnival Cruise Ship Passengers Wade 6 Blocks in Floodwaters to Make Departure

Passengers in Galveston Texas who were looking to make their departure for a Labor Day Carnival Cruise vacation, were forced to wade through floodwaters – or miss their boat.

According to KHOU 11 News, “Dozens of people were packed and ready to hop onboard a Carnival cruise ship but were forced to wade through floodwaters, walking blocks to get to the ship.”

Buses that were scheduled to take passengers from a parking lot to the cruise terminal 6 blocks away were unable to make the trip due to flooding in the streets. Determined passengers, knowing about the wet slog, decided to make the 6 block walk themselves.

Massive amounts of rain have been pelting the Gulf Coast of Texas as Hurrican Gordon approaches.
