Medical Condition Prompts Coast Guard to Remove Carnival Dream Passenger From Boat

Dramatic video posted by the United States Coast Guard shows the medevac of a Carnival Dream cruise ship passenger who was removed from the vessel on Monday, May 13.

The passenger, a 57-year-old man, was taken from the ship after the Coast Guard was notified of a medical emergency.

An Air Station Houston MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew was launched to the scene where the USCG crew took the patient and a physician from the ship to emergency medical services personnel at Scholes International Airport.

The Carnival Dream was about 66 miles off the coast of Galveston, Texas when the rescue occurred.
