A Carnival Cruise passenger’s death has been attributed to alcohol poisoning, per a report at CruiseCritic.com.

An 18-year-old died while at sea onboard Carnival Miracle ‘s February 18 sailing. Multiple reports assert the cause of death was alcohol poisoning.
Carnival Cruise Lines confirmed the man’s death. “We can confirm that an 18-year-old male guest passed away in his cabin at approximately 3 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 26 during an eight-day voyage of the Carnival Miracle, which ended later that morning in New York,” spokesman Vance Gulliksen said. “The cause of death has not been determined… We extend our deepest sympathies to the young man’s family and loved ones during this very difficult time.”
This incident was an unfortunate occurrence, and one fortunately, that does not happen with regularity. While death from alcohol poisoning is infrequent, alcohol poisoning is not.
