Over the weekend, an elderly passenger was air evacuated from Princess Cruises’ Sea Princess after a suspected brain bleed.
Flying over 150 miles – which is a long, long way by helicopter for a medical rescue – a team from RACQ CQ was winced on the deck to stabilize the woman. In the interim, the helicopter flew away to refuel, before returning to the ship, taking the rescue team and passenger off the vessel.
The helicopter arrived in Queensland, Australia and the passenger was delivered to Townsville Hospital in critical condition.
