Tropical Storm Gordon Delays Carnival and Royal Caribbean Cruises

Tropical Storm Gordon, with winds reaching 65 mph across the Gulf Coast made landfall in Mississippi.

Leading up to Gordon’s reaching land, the storm impacted cruise travel plans for Royal Caribbean and Carnival Cruises.

Royal Caribbean’s Chief Meteorologist James Van Fleet said that even with the delayed departure for Majesty of the Seas, the cruise ship will still make both port of calls on the itinerary. However, the ship’s itinerary will now be flipped. The cruise ship is currently on a five night cruise to the Western Caribbean from Tampa. The ship will now visit Cozumel first and then Costa Maya, Mexico.

Carnival Valor’s cruise plans were also delayed over the Labor Day weekend.

It looks as though other departures will continue as scheduled.
