Holland America Cruise Passenger Goes Overboard at Glacier Bay National Park

The National Parks Traveler reports that “A 69-year-old passenger of a Holland America cruise ship has been lost overboard at Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve in Alaska.”

At this point, there has been no further information on why or how the passenger went overboard (if that is the case).

On July  10, a passenger went overboard from the Seven Seas Mariner off the coast of Washington state.

Glacier Bay National Park issued a statement on Saturday evening that it had suspended its search and rescue for the passenger. The man was reported missing earlier in the afternoon. After a ship wide search, the vessel searched the waters around the park with aid from the park service and U.S. Coast Guard.

The cruise ship was the Westerdam which regularly travels between Vancouver in Canada and many points leading to Anchorage in Alaska.

Below are comments related to the search for the missing passenger (from the National Parks Traveler website).
